PADUA: you cannot miss a stop in Padua, a cosmopolitan city that boasts one of the oldest universities in Italy (founded in 1222): to visit the Orto Botanico, the Basilica of St. Anthony, Prato della Valle, and then get lost among the narrow streets of the historic center.
Curiosity: did you know that Padua is a city of 3 without ?
1° without - the Holy One of Padua, you know, is St. Anthony but perhaps not everyone knows that St Anthony is "the Saint" by definition, and then when he was appointed has no name! Also he dedicated Basilica is called Basilica del Santo.
2° without - in the street “ 8 February” there is the Pedrocchi Cafe, a historical coffee which until 1916 remained open day and night. That's why it was called the coffee without doors!
3° without - one of the most beautiful squares of Padua is Prato della Valle. Until the end of 1700 this place was nothing more than a swampy area, hence the name "meadow without grass"
